British data analysis agency Mintec released a statement, squid fishing is poor, demand is not slowing down, export prices have broken a record high.

The import price of squid in the U.S. market has exceeded $2.20 per kilogram, the highest in nearly five years.

According to Michael Liberty, a market analyst at Mintec, squid production has fallen to a 20-year low due to El Nino, with 57,500 tonnes of squid caught between January and September, 55% lower than in the same period last year, particularly in the Falkland Islands. Squid production plunged 99 percent to 2,000 tons, and prices soared 109 percent.

The squid shortage is expected to improve after Argentina moved up next year's squid fishing season by two weeks to January 18-20. But given how hard the squid market has been hit this year, the risk of selling squid will remain in the coming year, so we hope Chinese practitioners will choose carefully.
